Stillroom privacy notice

Effective for version 1.0.0, 8 September 2026.

Stillroom reads photos and videos you select through Android's folder picker or media permissions. It does not edit or delete your original media. The collection index, file paths, playback position and settings are stored in private app storage.

If you choose an SMB network folder, Stillroom connects to the server you specify to list and read your media. Network requests and authentication information go to that server, not to the app developer. Server-side logging and access controls are managed by that server's operator. The app has no developer-operated upload service. Network connection protection depends on the SMB protocol and server configuration; the app does not promise that every network connection is encrypted.

The network server address and username are stored locally. If you choose to remember a NAS password, it is encrypted using Android Keystore-backed encryption. Otherwise the password lasts only for the running app process. Network playback may keep a temporary local media cache. Settings > Forget collection removes the saved collection, credentials, playback state and network cache.

The app has no account system, advertising, analytics, advertising identifier access or developer-operated tracking service. No app content is collected by the developer. Android app backup is disabled in the app configuration. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling removes its locally saved data.

If you purchase the app, payment and store account information are handled by the app store under its own policy. This app does not receive or store your payment card details. The operating system and app store may independently process installation or diagnostic information under their own policies.
